Ryerson Community Theatre (formerly Oakham Community Theatre and Oakham Amateur Campus Theatre) has been a part of the Ryerson community since the inception of the Oakham House Societies in 1976. The Oakham Societies were dissolved at the end of the 2019-20 academic year, and RCT became a Student Group under the Ryerson Student Union at the end of 2020.
Our mission is to support and develop theatre and the dramatic arts in the Ryerson community. Whether you're looking for help with a film, a script, a performance, or just want to be involved in Ryerson's oldest and most established theatre and drama community, RCT is here to help.
If you want to be a part of the Ryerson community, we want to support you! We do this by holding acting workshops, pub nights, Annual Play Festivals, and other theatre events, which are open to all Ryerson community members (including you!). Our membership is free for full-time students, and $5 per term for Ryerson alumni, professors, part-time students, and other Ryerson community members.
RCT's goal is to explore theatre that is both entertaining and artistically deep. As a student group, RCT has the unique opportunity to explore unconventional and challenging theatrical productions.
